Pet IQ Lab ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data when you use our pet intelligence quiz at iq.thecosmicpet.com.

We comply with the GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679) and the French Loi Informatique et Libertés.

1. What we collect

When you use Pet IQ Lab, we collect:

• Your email address — to deliver your pet's report and follow-up content
• Your pet's name and species (dog or cat) — to personalise your report
• Quiz responses — 20 questions about your pet's behaviour
• Calculated scores — cognitive dimension scores and IQ estimate derived from your answers

We do not collect your name, address, phone number, or payment details (handled by Paddle, a third-party processor).

2. How we use it

• To generate and deliver your pet's personalised intelligence report by email
• To send relevant follow-up emails about your pet's results (up to 3 emails over 7 days)
• To improve the accuracy and quality of our quiz

3. Emails we send

By submitting your email address, you consent to receiving:

• Your pet's IQ report (immediate delivery)
• A follow-up email 3 days later with additional insights
• A follow-up email 7 days later with training recommendations

Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time, at no cost, with immediate effect.

4. Data storage

Your data is stored securely in Google Cloud Firestore, hosted on servers in the United States. Google's infrastructure complies with ISO 27001 and SOC 2. We retain your data for a maximum of 24 months, after which it is deleted. Report links expire after 30 days.

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share data only with these service providers, strictly as needed to operate the service:

• Resend (resend.com) — email delivery
• Google Cloud / Firestore — data storage
• Google Gemini API — AI report generation (pet name, species, scores only — no identifying information)
• Paddle (paddle.com) — payment processing (if you make a purchase)
• Vercel (vercel.com) — website hosting

6. Your rights (GDPR)

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct any inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Object to or restrict processing
• Opt out of marketing emails at any time

7. Cookies

We do not use tracking cookies, Google Analytics, or Facebook Pixel. Your quiz session is processed entirely in your browser's memory and is not stored unless you submit your email.

8. Children

Pet IQ Lab is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects any changes. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance.
